Cranium Glass is developing a reputation for its multi-layered architectural work. For a window that is, say, 3'-0" [W] x 3'-0" [H], two or three [or possibly more] base sheets of clear plate glass―each piece 3'-0" [W] x 3'-0" [H]―are placed one in front of the other and used to create a single, 1" to 2" deep, multi-layered glass panel.

A combination of diverse techniques―including laminated prismatic and dichroic glass, silkscreened [painted] glass, etched glass and cast glass―are used across the multiple base layers to create a single panel that is a shimmering, ever-shifting field of color, light and shadow.

In addition to its multi-layered work, Cranium Glass designs, fabricates and installs leaded [stained] glass doors and windows. Within our leaded work, we use only handblown sheet glass―never machine-made glass―because of its unmatched clarity and the richness of its color. In addition, we often incorporate areas of dense, layered prismatic glass elements within our leaded work.
